Jenrose and the Kentucky Bootleggers: Music
Sometimes
(Jenrose and the Kentucky Bootleggers)
for Kym
Looking out this picture window
on this picture perfect day
Trying to chase these winter blues away
Seattle's not a big town they say
there's just a lot of people here
There has to be a reason why they come
and why they stay
And sometimes in the afternoon
I play an old piano tune
And sometimes when the light is right
The shadows dance across this room
Can it really be 10 years now
since I left you, California?
5 years of living here in this old house alone
All my friends live up the hill now
but I'm still here below
Working hard just to make this place my home
But sometimes when the sun goes down
And darkness falls across this town
It's like a game of lost and found
Until the morning comes around
There was a time when this room was an ocean
And I was just floating along with the tide
But after awhile, well it just felt blue
And I just felt so tired
I thought Maybe I'll go to some part of the country
I have never seen
Or maybe I'll move this piano and paint these walls
The colors of coffee and cream
And sometimes when the sun goes down
I think that I could leave this town
But sometimes when the light is right
I think I just might hang around
Sometimes when the sun goes down
I think that I could leave this town
And sometimes when the light is right...
